When I read the synopsis of The Vacation by Ivy Smoak, I was intrigued. Lydia and Scott relationship is on the fritz and at the suggestion and decision of her friend Julia, she decides that taking this vacation will be the best thing for their relationship. I definitely wanted to know how this free pass would affect Lydia and Scott's lives. Would it be the best thing to happened to them or would it be a colossal mistake? As I was reading, it was a bit hard to get through the story. I didn't feel a connection between Lydia and Scott. And for a time I just wanted to get through the story.
Well, when we get to the end of the story there is a twist that I sure as hell didn't expect. My jaw dropped and I had a WTF moment. The twist at the end was the saving grace for this story.
I definitely believe Ivy Smoak had a great idea with the story for The Vacation but it fell a little flat role me, personally. If you like hot, steamy sex scenes and WTF moment, definitely read The Vacation.
