Blog Tour & Review: Consumed by JC Hannigan

Title: Consumed (Collide Series Book 2)
Author: J.C. Hannigan
Publisher: Booktrope Publishing
Re-Release: July 1st, 2015

Jax Walker is a hard man to resist. He’s tall, dark, and delicious. Harlow didn’t plan on falling for another, with her heart still stuck on Iain. But it’s so hard with him gone. And she’s been aching since they last touched. Two whole years of silent wondering; of desperate sleepless longing. Fate, however, may have other plans. Just as Harlow’s ready to open herself to new love, her whole world is pulled into a twisting and painful spiral. In this new adult novel, readers are consumed by the collision of past and present. Raw and dark, this emotional minefield is the perfect second book in the continuing story of Harlow Jones.

Collide (Collide Series Book 1)
Re-Release: May 11th 2015

Harlow Jones has a troubled past, and a questionable future. Surrounded by death, tragedy, and intrigue, she is forced to mature long before her time. Plagued by anxiety and depression, she hides her inner turmoil with spite and sarcasm. Her thick skin is impenetrable…or so she thought. Until she becomes involved with her grade twelve English teacher. In this exclusive entry into the new adult genre, with raw style that is as dark as it is poignant, Collide presents the ultimate choice: forbidden love or doing the right thing.

I was enthralled by Collide and couldn't wait to read Consumed, especially after that epilogue. Consumed is a beautifully written sequel.  We find out how Harlow is dealing since the 2 years  after Collide ended. Harlow is at university with her friend Jenna, she is still dealing with the aftermath of her relationship with Iain. Harlow have not heard a word from Iain since their relationship was exposed and he went to prison. She still have unresolved feeling when it comes to him.  But what she least expected was to find Jax.

Jax is unlike Iain. It's a relationship that she doesn't have to hide. It's safe and Jax  understands that there are certain things that Harlow is not ready to open up about. When she thinks that she is ready to completely open herself to Jax, she is still holding her feelings to Iain and also being confronted by her past.

I really enjoyed this book. There were time that I was really rooting for Jax and Harlow but I understood Harlow need to have some kind of closure with Iain. The events that happened in her past have made her wiser and there are thing that she is able to confront that I don't think she would've be able to do two years prior. However, the book did leave you with answered questions. I really really hope JC Hannigan writes another book with Harlow. Just like Harlow, I need some closure. I can't wait to read more from this author.
